Eastern Chemical Industries Limited was introduced to manufacture soluble silicates in November 1953. Manufacturing commenced in 1956 with a small furnace, and the company has continued operating at the same Changamwe location while increasing furnace size and improving technology and management to respond to market demand.

The manufacturing facility includes dedicated production systems, process-support equipment, storage tanks, dry product stores, controlled material storage and supporting plant infrastructure.
